Rabaçal 25 Fountains Levada Walk with fascinating landscape and tremendous valleys, spectacular waterfalls infinite laurel forest, and beautiful springs.
This Levada is one of the most popular on Madeira Island and its name lives up to the number of small waterfalls that can be counted when we arrive at the place. If you want to go by car you can park at the Rabaçal viewpoint and walk 2 km to the Rabaçal forest post, which is where the Levada of 25 fountains starts, if you don't want to do it there are transport services that take you there. The routes are properly signposted, and after walking a bit you will find an intersection with 2 Levada options, one will take you to Levada do Risco with 1km, and the Levada of 25 fountains with 13km.
Tip: If you want to go alone to avoid the place full of tourists, arrive at 9:00 at the latest to start the Levada.
Where to eat after the trip?
There are benches, tables, and bathrooms at the forest post if you want to have a picnic, or choose to eat at the Pico da Urze restaurant.
How to get there?
By car from Funchal to Encumeada up to a parking lot at Paúl da Serra, from there hiking trails will take you from Paul da Serra to Rabaçal (1278 m), or book a tour with us and you can be picked up from your hotel and you don't need to worry about anything.
