Prainha Beach is located in Caniçal parish near the tip of St. Lawrence. This is a black sand beach of volcanic origin.

It is known for its harbor with colorful fishing boats, walks by the sea, the curious Whale Museum, and delicious fresh fish restaurants.

How to get here?

Renting a car is the best option, but you can also take bus number 113 to Baia D'Abra.

Parking, entrance, and facilities:

• There is a parking lot near to the beach, but normally in summer is full, try to pull over out of the road and go down through the stairs until you find the beach hidden between the hills.
• It provides changing rooms, a restaurant service, parasols, and sunbeds.
