Penha de Águia, due to its magnificence, is probably one of the greatest geological symbols of Madeira whose formation and haughtiness do not leave anyone indifferent. With a height close to 600m, the Penha de Águia Footpath allows you to reach the top on a path that requires adventure and challenge on the part of the hiker.

Hike Distance: The total distance of the loop is 8 kilometers
Hike Duration: The hike will take you about 3 hours and a half
Hike Difficulty: This trail is undeniably steep. On the ascent, you will have a muddy, slippery track. You will need to manage some rocks, tree roots. There is always a defined path but it can be overgrown and a bit wild.
The descent must be along the same path, and be careful the floor is irregular, it may cause some imbalances. In the end, arriving at the starting point, you will be able to order from the local bars a drink of the regional specialty and to enjoy up close what at first seemed difficult to predict.
