Monte is one of the most pleasant places in Madeira. With a privileged location for the Funchal city amphitheater. Arriving at Monte, the highlight is the magnificent panoramic view over the city of Funchal and the sea that the 550 meters of altitude have to offer. A cooler climate hangs in the air and a peaceful environment is for some an asset that Monte has to offer. For that reason, some investors bet on the hotel sector in this area.

Curiosity:
One of its long-lost characteristics was a long railway, which made the connection between Monte and Funchal. Unfortunately, due to a shortage of steel to help fuel the war against the Nazis in World War II, the railway was dismantled and the train was out of service. The remains of the railway can still be seen today, particularly at the bottom of the hill, where the original station still exists.
