Faial is a small and picturesque village on the northeast coast of the island, named after a local beech tree (Myrica faya).

How to get to Faial?

Directions From Funchal between the freeway towards the Airport and Machico. Following the signs should continue towards Puerto de la Cruz by the former Regional Road 101. Faial is after the village of Porto da Cruz.
You can also go up to Monte towards Poiso, from where it descends to the Ribeiro Frio, then to the Faial.
